Color Galore

Sometimes on grey days, you need a little color.

Parisian Spring

.. It's raining in New York on the 1st full day of Spring and I believe there was even some snow earlier today.  My ideal place to be right now would be Paris or maybe I just want to have that Parisian flare about me.

Napa Wedding

One of the my closest friends is getting married this Labor Day weekend in Napa. It'll be a weekend filled with lots of amazing people, great food and insane amounts of wine. Since I happen to know a fair amount about wedding planning, I'm helping her plan the big day. I created this pinterest for her http://pinterest.com/mmsqaured/christine-s-wedding/

The below cupcake picture is one of many we are using for inspiration for the big day. The bride loves cupcakes and is an amazing baker.

Love Love

Yesterday, I had a day where everything seemed to take an extra 15 minutes! I felt sluggish and just frustrated! I decided to read this amazing blog called Le Love http://leloveimage.blogspot.com/

Read one or two of the amazing entries, you may cry and then hopefully you'll decide that loving someone or something is 100% worth it. Yes, love can hurt and be cruel but won't you rather have those moments than not!

Thankfully I got out of my funk.

Lily Pultizer Bridesmaid Dresses

I've pretty much been a girl who stays away from pink printed dresses!  Lily Pultizer is one of the last places I could imagine getting a bridesmaid dress from. Shockingly,  I think her new collection of bridesmaid dresses are super cute. It could be my desire for spring and bright colors! I love this bright pink lace dress on the right. She also has a few super cute white lace dresses that I could imagine wearing this summer. I may even add one to my pinterest board of clothes I want for spring! Lily, you surprised me!

Pinterest

I'm OBSESSSED with pinterest.com

This guy I'm dating canceled on me yesterday and I spent most of the afternoon figuring out the amazing world of pinterest.com. I'm now obsessed even though I'm still slightly lost. In the end I'd like to thank this guy for canceling!

On the left is what pinterest looks like... it's truly amazing and I'm probably only using 1/3 of what it can do. I'm putting together these fun inspiration boards and items I want.

As for the guy, we will see if he gets another date. Probably will. He canceled because he had work which I do all the time.

La Bohemienne

The other day I took this awesome quiz on the bhldn site about what sort of bride style I had. http://www.bhldn.com/explore_what-kind-of-bride-are-you/_/showAll/0/

I came out as "la bohemienne".  Not at all shocking. I could see myself in the dress above with some amazing jewelry in a lush garden. I also have strong love for french macaroons and expensive french lingerie. And of course there would be champagne.

Seersucker Dreams

We are having dreams of a seersucker summer wedding. Arlo Weiner, the boy on the left, is basically my style muse right now! He rocks a seersucker suit at age 8 on a bike while his friends are wearing the usual t-shirt and shorts.

For your bridesmaids, variations of the Thread Seersucker line in mini lengths are adorable and re-wearable. What bridesmaid is happy with a dress that she can actually rock again! Check out the full line at http://bridal.threaddesign.com/collections/?id=63 I plan to rock the Liddy style in blue seersucker this spring and summer to weddings, events or on a nice Saturday in the city.  The Shiloh is on the left is a great universal option!

The color choices are endless really. You don't just have to go traditional blue.   The preppy girl hidden somewhere in me finds boys in seersucker to be very cute! It's a great summer alternative to the usual khaki suit at the beach, garden, country club wedding.

I think I am ready for spring or maybe a little warm weather vacation!

Monday Madness

It's Monday. The sun has come out and I need to get down to work! Today is filled with pulling invitations ideas for a client. I never thought I'd be a girl who would love paper. I went to summer camp for way too long and I wrote home only because we were required to do so. I wrote the shortest letters to my parents on boring white paper lined paper or these awesome check the box stationery.  Now, I get excited my cute cards and buy way too many. Here are a few stationery ideas that I have pulled so far. We have an orange modern theme!

Bachlorette Time!

Happy Friday! This weekend I get to attend one of my close friends bachlorette party. Thankfully, there will be no penis necklaces or sashs for the bride. It's a classy affair. Well, sort of we are going pole dancing.  The question is what to wear... I can't outshine the bride to be on her big night out! I like dresses and skirts and if I have the opportunity to rock a dress with some heels I will.  I wear jeans all the time so when I can or feel in the mood, I'm all for a cute dress. Here are a few that might work for tomorrow night's activities.

Shopbop Goes Bridal!

I am huge shopbop.com fan. I find myself spending way too long staring at the amazing clothes, shoes and accessories on the site.

I learned today that shopbop will now carry bridal. Here are a few of the designers that they will carry:   Halston Heritage, Thread Social, Rachel Pally, Alice + Olivia, Calvin Klein, Catherine Deane, Lela Rose, Maz Azria, Notte by Marchesa, Temperley London, Thayer, and Zimmerman. They also are collaborating with super cool young New York City designers to create bridal lines exclusive to the site. Amazing! I can't wait for it to launch on March 14th.

In addition, they will carry bridesmaids and accessories.

Below are a few images. More information can be found on Martha Stewart Weddings! http://thebridesguide.marthastewartweddings.com/2011/03/fashion-shopbop-com-bridal-sneak-peek.html

Costco does Bridal!

I'm all for Costco! I'm all for bridal dresses that retail under $1,000. Could I imagine getting my dress while also picking up enough toilet paper to last for 6 month. NO! Yet, Costco like everyone else is getting into the bridal market. Kristie Kelly will offer her signature collection for Costco beginning in LA and then expand come October to your local Costco.

Here are a few images... they are very pretty!

Brooklyn Wedding Crashers!

We attended Brooklyn Bride's Wedding Crashers Event this past Sunday. It was so fun! Free sweets and alcohol - what girl won't be happy. I'm going to upload a few pictures soon.

I though have to tell everyone about my obsession with Bee's Knee's. They make these amazing cake/cupcake in rocks glasses. I could eat them all day. I believe the chocolate peanut butter was my favorite but they were all amazing. I have referred three people to them since Sunday!

Fashion Week

Its fashion week here in NYC! It's amazing the clothes that people are wearing on the streets and even more the clothes on the runway. It makes me think what would I would wear to my next weddings (where I go as a guest) or my own wedding. I've never been a girl who imagines herself in a big princess dress but they say when you put one on your opinion changes!

Jenny Packham is one of my favorite bridal designers. Her designs have a sophisticated elegance. Her ready to wear collection is a little more fun, rocker. I love her beading work.  I imagine wearing the black pant suit to ex-boyfriends wedding. I would never though...

Vera Wang and Badgley Mischka are designers that can't do a girl wrong. You'll look beautiful and elegant in both. (PS - I did check out the Vera's David Bridal line but that's for another post)

 Badgley Mischka
Vera Wang

Marc Jacobs red lace dress makes me swoon. I would wear it anywhere!

BHLDN

I worked in bridesmaid dresses so I know a few things about these dresses. In addition, I have been a bridesmaid more times that I like to say.  I don't know how many times I've heard a bride say "you can ear it again" or "I'd borrow this dress". Every bridesmaid rolls her eyes slightly to these words. So when I heard that anthropology/ urban outfitters was creating a line of bridal and bridesmaid dresses along with all the accessories to go along, I swooned. I love their clothes especially their great dresses. I'm obsessed with BHLDN http://www.bhldn.com/index.cfm

I actually might consider just ordering a few things to see how they look ... is that awful? I wouldn't get a bridal gown but maybe a few cute dresses like this one.

Wedding Love 2

Here are few pictures from a wedding that I got the pleasure to help plan! The pictures don't show how beautiful not only the space but the day was for this great couple.
